Growing up in a rural farm community, I was intrigued by the graffiti I saw on the grain hopper trains passing by. I wondered about who and what the artists were about. It linked me to a different time and place and I knew I was the intended audience as much as anyone. I was fascinated by the variety of emotional expression through color and line in script.  I immersed myself in the graffiti world and the challenges of expressing myself through color and shape. As I have transitioned into other mediums and the fine art world I still like to play with color and line to bring that same emotive quality. I want my audience to feel something beyond the imagery. Miro notebooks clean design resonates with me through their subtle use of color but strong design integrity. They are great notebooks for me to explore my ideas.
